CONTENTMENT: the state of being satisfied with one’s current life situation.

And that’s what I felt when i stepped out of the shower today.

anway, worked the whole of friday at burger bistro (Day #6) and chilled with them afterwards.

woke up on saturday morning and headed to leederville flea market (which was shit btw).  but saturday night was good because we headed to ‘The Court’ which was interesting and eyeopening. And then we headed to metro city for the End of Semester Party which was really good. Music was good, company was awesome with the girls, issac and george, and fast eddy’s at the end!

Fast Eddy’s is quite expensive. Fish and Chips, Teriyaki Rice, Chilli Bowl, Wedges & Chips and 2 milkshakes came up to $80+.  After supper was a good soaking in the bathtub for a long long time.

Didn’t feel like doing anything on Sunday (Day #8), just headed for mass and dinner at Tommy. But a sudden thought came to me, what if our guardian angle was in our daily lives. They might take a different form daily, but everyday we encounter/bump into them at least once (as their form up checking up on us). And then i stared at this old man in the same pew as me, and wondered if he was my guardian angle.

I miss my guardian angle, the only one that has left me feeling protected, safe, and loved.

The coming week’s gonna be jam packed filled with activities!!! can’t wait!!!

I had the worst grocery experience on Monday (Day #2). It was fun piling up the baskets and trolley with loads of yummy food, but i underestimated my strength and ability to carry what came up to be 8 bags of grocery shopping over a 600m walk back to the apartment. My fingers were gonna drop off from the lack of blood circulation.

Been working everyday of this week, but Kate joined me on tuesday afternoon for a swim, jacuzzi and bubble bath! We cooked dinner and watched ’something about mary’! Plus a midnight walk through town to get McDonald’s fries and ice cream! yum yum yum

<3 that girl. She spent Wednesday (Day #4) with me shopping at harbour town, and 1/2 priced cocktails at Carnergies at night! Good night =)

Today was the last time I was gonna see kate till next year =( I went to work and then had Jus Burger at Subiaco with Marian and Wendy! Real good deal, $11-$14 burgers that are HUGE!!!! they have a kangaroo meat burger too. their fries are fresh potato fries (never frozen) and their store concept its sooo nice, funky and cool! Go check it out!!

Three of us decided to head to Paddy’s for a drink to just chill before watching New Moon. Had free drinks from guys who could be our fathers.

OMG! best part of tonight was watching New Moon! Not gonna say anything here cos many haven’t watched (since it opens so late in Singapore)… but JACOB BLACK is sOOOOoooOOOOoOooOOOOO HOT!!!!! he’s soooo good looking! pretty sure my mouth was hanging throughout the whole movie after he cut his hair and took off his shirt. Edward Cullen should just keep his shirt on. hahaha

ah! full day of work tomorrow and then its the WEEKEND!!! =)

I will be living out on my own, being responsible for my life and living conditions.

I need to work around my schedule to meet up with the very special friends I have in Perth who care for me and support me.

I want to spend time swimming in the swimming pool,

watching sappy romantic movies, laughing at that 70’s show, heading out to harbour town for some therapy, exploring the various parts of Perth, hopefully get someone to do cliff jumping with me

just watched “The Holiday” and heard the answer to the very question in my brain this morning:

“Why am I attracted to a person I know isn’t good?”

“Because you’re hoping you’re wrong. And every time he does something that tells you he’s no good you ignore it. And every time he comes through and surprises you, he wins you over and you lose that argument with yourself, that he’s not for you”

HAPPY 21st!!! Welcome to the Club

i feel like … ive lost part of who i was few years back

for this whole semester, my mind’s pre-occupied with

“what am i gonna do after uni”

“need to work more to save money”

“got to do assignments/project”

… i feel… quieter

i realise that this semester, I have managed to complete my assignments beforehand, not having to rush through it in the last few hours.

i wish i have the same motivation to start on my exams. the 20cm high stack of notes just puts me off immediately. =(

SUMMER IS HERE =)

I love wearing shorts and not worrying about the cold.

Life’s been good, and every weekend has been filled with an event.

About a month ago, we went to the Perth Royal Show, kinda like a carnival with games, roller coasters, animal shows, and awesome fireworks.

i love rollercoasters and crazy rides. feel the adrenaline!!!

We celebrated Liang Sheng’s Birthday the next weekend.

Two weekends ago, we had the St Thomas More College Ball

My second and last College Ball.

Everyone was dressed up really nice, got my hair curled for the first time, and loads of nice photos as well.

Dinesh had his 21st birthday partying last weekend, and this weekend was just a quiet mellow transition into summer.

Valete Dinner, the formal dinner to celebrate the graduates who are moving on to another phase in life.

It was a simple yet happy one =) i’ve been smiling alot since.

I feel blessed.

Thanks to Sarah Marie Teo, the support of my faith, sanity, emotions, bath and meal times. Thank you for letting me barge into your room for random stuff. For movie nights, snacks and printing of notes. Thank you for my awesome birthday presents and for being the simplest, most honest, genuine, supportive, understanding, kind heart best friend ever.

Now it’s the time for the final lap of the academic year 2009. The last sprint to study for exams and do well, so that i can enjoy the holidays in Perth and back in Singapore.

So i was looking for a place to stay after exams while i stay in perth to work for a month before heading back to SG

I came across this great offer

A full furnished kitchen with an electric stove, ice maker, fridge, microwave, coffeemaker

A lavishingly well layed out living room with cable tv, high speed internet, laundry facilities

All these, inclusive of internet, electricity and utility bills was at a great offer os $120 per week (usually it would be at $250 or more per week for such a nice apartment located in the heart of the city)

I got so excited about this and spent the whole morning liasing with them.

The owners said they were honest people that  just moved to the UK for missionary trips, and they just needed someone to MAINTAIN their house. They were not looking for money, but wanted a trustworthy tenant that will look after their furniture.

So i filled up the application form and was given the bank details to transfer the rent of $600 for 5 weeks + bond of $500 to them.

I was so excited about this place. It looks awesome and I even considered moving out next semester to stay in such a nice apartment for such a low price. 1 min walk away from the main city stretch, easily accessible and i could cook and have house parties.

Then I talked to Marie (sis) and being the very mature, logical older sister, she questioned me about various things and… she asked me if this was a scam???

TA DAH!!! here’s the cues we picked out that I had overlooked just cause I liked the way the house looked.

1. Way too cheap a price for such an accommodation with everything inclusive (suspiscious)

2. They ask for me to transfer the funds over immediately despite my rental period to be only in november. Usually renting houses takes a few weeks to process.

3. The money was to be transferred to an overseas account. Wouldn’t they have an aussie account, having stayed here before and intending to come back?

4. They sent me a dodgy email application form (no formal documentation or procedure)

5. They had brought their keys with them to UK, and would send me the keys via DHL after they’ve received the money

6. Because of that, I could not view the apartment before renting. (who intends to rent their apartment out but bring their key along with them to another country??)

7. No unit number was given to me, just the main address of the whole apartment block.

looking at the above cues, it definately is a scam. Marie found this on a website

I was blinded by the good deal and attractive pictures.

NOTE: if ever renting apartments, read through “Renting and Leasing” for the formal procedures and documentations that will protect you.

this is one big lesson i have learnt today!!!
